Http://bit.ly/MBRL4z - The Bourne Legacy Trailer!
We don't know if fans will embrace Jeremy Renner as the new protagonist of the Bourne series, but the producers behind the film feel confident we will and are already planning additional movies featuring the other Treadstone graduate.
Many fans of Matt Damon's portrayal of Jason Bourne in the three Bourne films were
a bit upset when they heard their favorite butt-kicking assassin would be replaced by a new character - Aaron Cross. Following Renner's role as "Hawkeye" in The Avengers and from what we've seen from the trailers, Renner seems like he will be the perfect heir to take over the Bourne franchise, but we'll finally get to see for ourselves when The Bourne Legacy hits theaters August 10th.
Though the box office will ultimately be the deciding factor on whether or not we see Renner return in another Bourne film, according to Hollywood.com plans to feature Cross in a new trilogy are already underway. Producer Frank Marshall told the site, "We want there to be another three [movies], definitely. We created a new character, and we created a new world that everyone is operating in. So we have a whole lot of ways we can go."
As for what this means for a potential return of Matt Damon as Bourne, the star previously revealed that he would consider returning for another film, but only if director Paul Greengrass, who helmed the last two films, would also return behind the camera. Producers have also suggested that the door has been left open for Damon to return and also for him and Renner to potentially team-up in a film, but it sounds like the plan is to move on with the Bourne franchise, with or without Damon.
So we have to ask, do you plan on seeing The Bourne Legacy when it hits theaters and do you think the franchise can survive without Damon? Let us know in the comments and be sure to Like us on Facebook for exclusives you won't find anywhere else. I'm Vivian Fabiola, thanks for watching!
I will watch it cuz Renner is a very underrated actor and he has been becoming my favorite since I seen him in Mission Impossible 4.
