Storyline

Two victims of traumatized childhoods become lovers and psychopathic serial murderers irresponsibly glorified by the mass media.

The Director

Oliver Stone
William Oliver Stone (born September 15, 1946) is an American film director and screenwriter. Stone became known in the late 1980s and the early 1990s for directing a series of films about the Vietnam War, in which he had participated as an American infantry soldier. His work frequently focuses on contemporary political and cultural issues, often controversially. He has received three Academy Awards: Best Adapted Screenplay for Midnight Express (1978), and Best Director for Platoon (1986) and Born on the Fourth of July (1989). The British newspaper The Guardian described him as "one of the few committed men of the left working in mainstream American cinema."

Stone's movies often use many different cameras and film formats, including VHS, 8 mm film, and 70 mm film. He sometimes uses several formats in a single scene, as in Natural Born Killers (1994) and JFK (1991).

User Reviews

an excellent movie
Woody Harrelson (Mickey Knox) and Juliette Lewis (Mallory Knox) are two people with troubled pasts that become serial killers after murdering Mallory's parents. Their killing spree across the country makes them famous and even admired by the people.

The movie is filmed in an odd way, part of it shot in black and white and other parts being shot as a cartoon, but that, in my honest opinion, intensifies the movie experience. The story of the movie is unique, and the philosophy behind it is amazing.

A movie written by the legendary Quentin Tarantino and directed by the well known and acclaimed director Oliver Stone can only be masterpiece. Although Tarantino did not like the finished result of this movie after Oliver Stone changed his script, this is still a monumental film that remains infamous to this day for it's gore and bloodlust.

I truly enjoyed the movie, and I recommend it to you all.

One of the most self-fellatingly "edgy" movies ever made. Parts of it are intriguing, but mostly it's irritating and obnoxious.

Stain

ARGH! A strong candidate for the "Pink Floyd The Wall Award" for most insane movie of the '90s
