Storyline

Turkish and his rather strange accomplice Tommy get pulled into the world of match fixing by the notorious Brick Top. Things get complicated when the boxer they had lined up gets the shit kicked out of him by Pitt, a pike as they call him. They then try to convince Pitt not only to fight for them, but to lose for them too. Whilst all this is going on, a huge diamond heist takes place, and a fistful of motley characters enter the story, including Cousin Avi, Boris The Blade, Franky Four Fingers and Bullet Tooth Tony. Things go from bad to worse as it all becomes about the money, the guns, and the damned dog!

Probably 8.5 rather than 9.

Basically, Snatch got almost all of the goodness of "Lock, Stock, 2 smoking barrels" but not quite.

Brad Pitt is excellent but his character is not as attaching as the previous main characters. And the plot is missing a bit of "je-ne-sais-quoi"...

Still, a classic and a great movie.

Pretty good. Doesn't quite work for me.

- How much you gonna pay us?
- 10K.
- Me bollocks. Lose more than that running for the bus.

A funny and fast-paced comedy helped by a tough soundtrack. As joyful as an Ocean's Twelve, the English accent being the cherry on the cake ;-)

I have a weakness for Ritchie's over the top portrayals of London gangster life. Snatch is a solid film brought to another level by the performance of Brad Pitt as a hard fighting, caravan dwelling gypsy.

Ritchie's typical style features heavily with over the top dialogues and unusual camera work.

While not an artistic film in any sense, the style coupled with excellent performances allows the film to rise above other British gangster films.
