The ludicrous plot of undercover policemen in an American high school provides the perfect platform to spring a comic bromance off. The script is sharp and the jokes are always flowing, there are some postmodern jibes at film making and adolescent trends but mostly this is broad comedy that for the most part avoids slapstick.

Scene-stealing cameos from Rob Wriggle and Johnny Depp add to the fun but really this is just a story about two characters. Full credit to the two leads who manage to both do the gags and get the required framing narrative in too.
