Storyline

Two longtime NYPD partners on the trail of a stolen, rare, mint-condition baseball card find themselves up against a merciless, memorabilia-obsessed gangster. Jimmy is the veteran detective whose missing collectible is his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, and Paul is his "partner-against-crime" whose preoccupation with his wife's alleged infidelity makes it hard for him to keep his eye on the ball.

This film's biggest problem is that it just isn't very funny. Smith abandons his trademark wit, and replaces it with cheesy jokes that we've seen in a hundred low rent comedies before this one. The narrative is also an uneven mess, you might know what is going on but you probably won't care. Morgan manages to salvage a few humorous moments with his standard persona, and his chemistry with Willis is solid, but ultimately Cop Out just doesn't bring enough to the table.
