Storyline

The only survivor of the Nostromo, Ripley is discovered in deep sleep half a century later by a salvage ship. When she is taken back to Earth, she learns that a human colony was founded on the same planet where the aliens were first found. After contact with the colony is lost, she finds herself sent back to the planet along with a team of warriors bent on destroying the alien menace forever, and saving any survivors -- if any remain.

The Director

James Cameron
James Cameron was born in Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada, on August 16, 1954. He moved to the USA in 1971. The son of an engineer, he majored in physics at California State University but, after graduating, drove a truck to support his screen-writing ambition. He landed his first professional film job as art director, miniature-set builder, and process-projection supervisor on Roger Corman's Battle Beyond the Stars (1980) and debuted as a director with Piranha Part Two: The Spawning (1981) the following year.

After this came a string of successful science-fiction action films such as Aliens (1986) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). Cameron is now one of the most sought-after directors in Hollywood. Well-made and entertaining as hell, but the endlesses torrent of aliens isn't as menacing as the single one in the first movie. The movie is still very suspenseful, but in a less satisfying way, I think.

FitFortDanga

The story is very good and the action is spectacular and the suspense is there all the way... but I'm really put off by James Cameron's obvious lust for hi-tech weaponry and penchant for "tough guy" dialogue. He's so adolescent.

Stain

One of the best goddamn monster movies ever made. Never tire of it

Spunkie

What is great about non-computerized visual effects are all in this movie. Even though I am not a big fan of Cameron's I have to admit his sense of action is nearly unsurpassable. Everybit of alien ass we see, we desire more. Biological background that Aliens build up on Alien is fair especially considering todays standarts.

GIANT ALIEN VS GIANT ROBOT = GIANT AWESOME
