2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) - John Singleton
Plot - Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) is a disgraced former cop who takes part in illegal street racing to earn money. During one of these races he is caught by the police and blackmailed into going undercover for them as a 'driver', to expose an illegal importer (who looks disconcertingly like Matthew Mcconaughey if he was clean). He decides to recruit his childhood friend, whom he has a chequered past with and things quickly get complicated with them having to stay one step ahead of the cops and the criminals....

Thoughts - Paul Walker has the deadest eyes of anyone working in cinema. Seriously I felt like they were sucking away at my soul as he tried to 'act' and we got numerous close shots of those dead, dead eyes Also I never knew there were so many ways to call someone bro; we got through bro, brah, breh, bre, b and there's probably more as Walker and Tyrese Gibson (the childhood friend who is the stand in for Vin Diesel) engaged in a competition to see who could act the worst; Walker won that fight.

......anyway the film was pretty much what you would expect, fast cars, women in skimpy bikinis and lots of talk of 'chrome' and 'rims', all backed up by a soundtrack of rap. The story is very similar to the first, with Walker undercover, tempted by a very wooden Eva Mendes, who must work together with someone he has a complicated relationship with, but it's a far lesser film than the first with Vin Diesel, and that wasn't exactly that great in the first place. There was one moment towards the end that did surprise me though, in it's cleverness but on the whole this is brain-dead entertainment. It wasn't all bad, it depicts the speed of the races quite well and.......

This is a great example of how the studio had no idea what made the first movie popular.

2 Stupid. Some of the worst dialogue I've heard in a long time. I think they say "bro" about 1000 times.
