Storyline
Iron Man 2 is an upcoming 2010 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name from Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures. It is the sequel to 2008's Iron Man, and the second film in a planned trilogy. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film stars Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Tony Stark, an industrialist and master engineer, also known as the superhero Iron Man. The film is scheduled to be released in the UK on April 30 and in North America on May 7, 2010. |

Jonathan Kolia "Jon" Favreau (born October 19, 1966) is an American actor, screenwriter, film director and comedian. He is best known for appearing in films including Rudy, I Love You, Man, Swingers and Couples Retreat, as well as directing such films as Elf, Iron Man, and Iron Man 2. He is also known for playing the role of Pete Becker, Monica Geller's boyfriend during season three of the television sitcom Friends.

This film is too busy introducing extraneous characters to leverage the exceptional talent that Downey Jr. displayed during the first film. The plot is extremely busy, and doesn't have a good sense of place, which muted the periodic revelations. The action is also poorly distributed, and the character development scenes are trying to accomplish too many things with too many characters. I don't think the franchise is dead, but it definitely needs to regroup after this film.
